New York Market Entry Assistance for Japanese Fashion Brand: Nori & Creative Direction Consulting

(Sales Channel Devleopment & Re-branding)

 

1)Background
Nori is a fashion label established in 1990. The brand's unique concept uses rich and one of a kind, kimono fabrics from the Taisho Period to the start of the Showa Period. From March 2008 for a six month engagement, we worked together with NORI to support the brand's american market entry. This effort also included strategic creative direction for the brand and collection design in order to appeal and attract younger clientele.


2)New York Market Development

During the period of March -May 2008, provided strategic assistance and management to introduce the brand to the American market. These efforts lead to the successful placement of the collection at renown Japanese department store, Takashimaya (New York) where the collection was sold from July -October 2008.


3)Re-branding
Based on the market needs for successful entry in New York, we worked together with NORI to refine and reposition the brand. Weworked specificially on the brand's and collections creative direction and concept in order to successfully appleal to a younger client base and reposition the brand as modern.
